We support the research with design

Choose the design and support research to fight the cancer.

We are DEESUP, the marketplace for the resale of second-hand and selected furniture design.

To support the cancer research, we host on our marketplace a selection of design items donated to AIRC Foundation by top made in Italy brands such as Arper, Artemide, B&B Italia, DePadova, Flexform, Flos, Kartell, Molteni & C, Pedrali and many others.

By ordering products with the "Deesup for the Reasearch of AIRC" icon, the entire amount will finance three scholarships for young researchers.

Why we are doing this

Making cancer more and more curable depends on the work of researchers and the commitment of each of us. This partnership with AIRC was addressed with the aim to create social value with an ethical vision, in line with our Manifest.

There is also a moral commitment that drives us to share AIRC's mission: accelerate the progress of cancer research to improve people's wellbeing and lives. Hence, this initiative supports research by celebrating design.

AIRC Foundation

Since 1965 AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research has supported innovative scientific projects through transparent and constant fundraising, sharing scientific information, promoting the culture of prevention. It counts on 4.5 million supporters, 20,000 volunteers and 17 regional committees that guarantee over 5,000 researchers the necessary resources to bring the results from the laboratory to the patient in the shortest possible time. In 55 years of commitment, AIRC has distributed over 1 billion and seven hundred million euros for the financing of cancer research.

A story as a researcher

Manuela Sollazzo, 33 years old, is one of the researchers that AIRC supported through a scholarship. Born in the province of Reggio Calabria, Manuela Sollazzo moved to Bologna where she graduated in health biology in 2014. The premature death of a loved one convinced her to devote herself to cancer research. Being able to contribute is the biggest motivation that drives her to do this job.

Her project scope is inhibiting some signaling pathways activated in tumor cells after treatment with currently available therapies and which very often fail to completely eradicate tumor progression. "I hope this study will lead to the development of new combination therapies that can be easily translated into clinical practice."
